Aizawl, February 22, 2010: Mizoram State Legal Services Authority ( MSLSA) under section 22B of the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987 ( Central Act 39 of 1987) as amended by Act No.37 of 2002 , with immediate effect had established ' Permanent Lok Adalat’ at Aizawl District and Lunglei District , in respect of all the public Utility Services ( PUS) as defined under clause (b) of section 22A of the Act.
Meantime , following are appointed as Chairman and Members of the aforementioned Permanent Lok Adalat for a period of five(5) years: District & Session Judge , Aizawl district as chairman for Aizawl ; D.R.Zirliana , editor , Mizo Aw Daily & Lalrintluanga , Lecturer , Govt Aizawl College as members for Aizawl , including District & session Judge , Lunglei district as Chairman for Lunglei , Sapliana Chawngthu , Lunglei Bazar & PC Sangthuama as members for Lunglei .
According to members secretary , MSLSA , Marlivankung here, the public utility service means any transport service for the carriage of passengers or goods by air , road or water , postal , telegraph of telephone service , supply of power , light or water to the public by any establishment , system of Public conservancy or sanitation , service in hospital or dispensary , Insurance service and includes any service which the central Government or the state Government as the case may be in the public interest by notification , declare to be a public utility service for the purposed of this Chapter.
The Areas which the permanent Lok Adalat shall exercise jurisdictions are whole Aizawl session Division / Aizawl Judicial District , and whole Lunglei session Division / Lunglei District, and whole Lunglei session Division / Lunglei Judicial districtr, said Ms.Marli Vankung.
