AIZAWL, March 15, 2010 (Zonet) – A member of National Human Right Commission supported by two officials is currently visiting Saiha District to get first hand information about the people of the District.
The team headed by the Commission Member, Mr. Satyabrata Pal met the District SP, Mrs. Suman Goyal Kunal, Mara Autonomous District Council (MADC) leaders and leaders of NGOs in Saiha today to get information about the people and the treatment they received from the administration and other communities as well.
They also had interaction with the inmates of the District Jail to ascertain whether there is human right abuse among the prisoners.
The Human Right Commission Team has left for Phura to study the condition of living in the rural areas.
