AIZAWL, September 14 (NNN): A minor girl Sonia (name changed), native of Durtlang of north Aizawl, Mizoram was rescued from the clutches of traffickers from Rewari district, Haryana in a joint rescue operation conducted by Mizoram Police comprising of three police officers, Delhi based NGO Shakti Vahini led by Mr. Ravi Kant and team and a Mizoram based NGO, CHAN on September 12.
In the two day operations, five traffickers were also arrested from different places. They have been identified Dinesh Kumar Yadav (31), Shri Ram Yadav (60), Dharanveer Yadav (30), Jile Singh (36), Mahinder Singh (65) and one person which is not known yet.
The victim was counseled by the professional counselor of Shakti Vahini. During counseling it was revealed that on June 6 Satyawan, BSF personnel of SHQ, Aizawl, Mizoram dispatched Sonia to his home village Rotwal, Alwar District, Rajasthan via Guwahati (Assam). He handed her Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees three thousand) only for her journey expenses. The girl arrived New Delhi Railway Station and was received by Raju Yadav who is a brother of Satyawan Yadav.
Raju in connivance with other accomplices sold the victim for sexual exploitation at Rs. 90,000. Satyawan who was availed leave also reached his home village Rotwal. He was paid Rs. 50,000 out of the sale of the girl. It was also revealed that the victim had been seduced and exploited by the BSF personnel Satyawan posted at BSF Sector Hqrs. Durtlang, Aizawl, Mizoram. BSF Hqrs and residence of victim girl are close by at the same locality of Durtlang North, Aizawl.
Mobile phone contacts made by unidentified callers to the family members of the victim traced the callers to Haryana and Rajasthan. BSF personnel Satyawan had availed leave on June 9. His past acquaintance with the victim and the coincidence of his leave with the disappearance of the victim pose a strong suspicion on the involvement of Satyawan on the disappearance of Sonia. A case has been registered at Bawngkawn Police Station, Aizawl, Mizoram Case No. 249/2011 Dt.17.8.2011 u/s 5(1)(a),(b),(c) and (d) Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 r/w Secs 342/366-A/372/376(a) IPC r/w Secs 73/76 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of children) Act,2000.
On learning the fact that a criminal case was registered at Aizawl, Mizoram in connection with the missing of the girl, her captors decided to terminate (kill) her. One Dharamvir Yadav (30) s/o Nihal Singh Yadav, village- Manethi; P.S. Khol; Distt: Rewari, Haryana (now arrested) having sympathy on the victim girl decided not to terminate (kill) her but sold her to Shri Ram Yadav and his son Dinesh Kumar Yadav for false marriage to Dinesh Kumar Yadav @ Rs. 50,000, a source added.
The rescue team raided the house of Shri Ram Yadav - 60 yrs. s/o Shiv Narain Yadav (L); village- Pitanwas; PS- Kasola; Distt- Rewari, Haryana on the evening/night of 12th Sept, 2011 and rescued the victim.
