A major road construction project to be financed by World Bank is to be started soon in Mizoram.
PWD Engineer-in-Chief Lianchungnunga said that the double-lane highway to link Mamit, Lunglei and Lawngtlai district with Kaladan Multi Modal Transit Transport Project in the western part of Mizoram has been approved by the Centre and the total length of the road to be constructed with about 2000 crore rupee World Bank Project II is 350 kilometers.
He also said that Procurement Notice will be issued within May to select a consultant who will prepare the Detailed Project Report.
In this connection, World Bank Chief, Diep Nguyen Van Houtte and her associate met the Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla at his residence on Thursday last.
The team also met the Chief Secretary L Tochhong to discuss to issue.
