Mizoram launches SDG and Project Monitoring Dashboards for Transparency

Aizawl, 28 Oct (Zoram News): Mizoram’s Chief Minister, Pu Lalduhoma today, inaugurated two innovative digital platforms: the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Dashboard and the Mizoram State Project Monitoring Dashboard (MPLAN). The event, held at the Planning & Programme Implementation Department’s Conference Hall, marked a significant step towards improving transparency and accountability in Mizoram’s development projects.

Mizoram launches SDG and Project Monitoring Dashboards for Transparency
In his speech, the Chief Minister highlighted the vital role of sustainable development in Mizoram’s progress. He explained that these new dashboards will help set priorities for the state’s initiatives, streamline project tracking, and support real-time monitoring. “Our goal is to build a transparent governance model that promotes accountability,” said Pu Lalduhoma. To enhance oversight, a Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee, including representatives from political parties and NGOs, will oversee project progress.

Key Features of the SDG Dashboard

The SDG Dashboard, created in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and funded by the Ministry of Personnel, captures data on local-level development indicators. It supports monitoring at village, district, and urban levels, aligning with Mizoram’s Local Indicator Framework (LIF). This tool allows the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, and other officials to access comprehensive development data, while citizens have limited access to reports.

Objectives of the SDG Dashboard

  • Track Mizoram’s SDG progress at local levels
  • Provide data by theme, indicator, and goal
  • Support rankings to encourage positive competition among districts and villages for achieving targets
  • Enable quality data collection and tracking across the state

About MPLAN: Centralizing Project Monitoring

The MPLAN Dashboard, funded by NITI Aayog and developed by Integrity Tech Solution, centralizes project data to enhance resource allocation and streamline project submissions. By providing an “Eagle’s Eye View” of all active projects, it supports real-time project monitoring, simplifies the submission of project proposals, and aligns state projects with funding requirements.

Key Functions of MPLAN

  • Centralize project information for easy access
  • Standardize submission processes for better compliance
  • Enable data-driven insights for effective decision-making
  • Foster transparency and accountability across sectors

With the new dashboards, Mizoram will be able to monitor ongoing projects, set benchmarks for success, and ensure that development goals are achieved efficiently. The MPLAN dashboard, in particular, offers visibility into current initiatives, allowing the government to evaluate progress and guide future planning with reliable data.
